In this body that is shown off prominently and consisting of blood, water, skin, intestines and bones,
remains the life, having the characteristics of delusory evil, anger and intense passion; to take that life away,
Yaman, the God of Death, comes deliberately bringing along with him the long rope (of attachment);
standing by the side, is my mother crying uncontrollably; I am about to depart after abandoning everything as if I forgot them all; now, before that event,
kindly let the lotus of my mind blossom in blissful devotion so that You emerge from it as the Lord GuhA and bless me with the knowledge of the art of happily praising Your Divine Grace!
Making the huge and tall demon, SUran, surrounded by armies of demons, flee the battlefield in a daze,
You killed him with Your spear witnessed by the celestials who cherished in their heart the bravery shown by You once in the battlefield;
As the Sun, the Moon and Vishnu, who once went digging into this earth (as a boar), prostrated at His feet,
He imbibed the evil poison (AlakAlam) Himself, dispelling the fear of the seven worlds; that steadily dancing Great Lord SivA was delighted
when You preached to Him the ancient VEdAs the other day, Oh Great One!
