You went earnestly in front of Your Father, SivA,

and went around Him happily; and

embraced Him with ardent love.

Like that steady love,

I too should be able to see You and lose myself in You;

with kadampa flowers,

beautiful and ornate crowns,

reddish hands like lotus flowers,

the spear that destroyed cUran (demon),

twelve eyes and six Divine faces,

and the moonlit shining colours on those,

all these should cool my eyes, and

would they not manifest before me?

The earth which was created by BrahmA (who sits on a lotus flower),

and the encircling Universe which gobbled up the earth

jumped with joy

when You entered the battlefield.

You stood like a golden mountain*

and expanded in all directions

and elated the minds of Vishnu and Your father, SivA.

Those dancing feet of Yours

are in this place, ThiruchchendhUr, and

also dance in front of my eyes lovingly,

Oh Kanda, handsome one like Manmatha!

You indulge in the sandal-fragrant bosom of VaLLi, the KuRava girl.

You are also worshipped by the sage, Agasthya, Oh Great One!
